After School

Mentoring

Volunteer mentors provide meaningful connections for StreetSquashers at different stages in their StreetSquash experience. StreetSquash recruits mentors with a wide range of experience, skills, and backgrounds who can provide additional support and guidance to our young people. Mentors are college graduates, and squash experience is not required.

  • StreetSquash Mentor: Mentors are paired with middle and high school students, and meet regularly with StreetSquashers in and outside of regular program times. StreetSquash plans several mentoring outings during the year, but it is up to the Mentors to maintain regular communication with their StreetSquasher.
  • College Prep Mentor: StreetSquash high school seniors are paired with College Prep Mentors who support them during the college admissions process, reviewing college essays, school choices, and providing insight into the college experience.
  • ACT Mentor: ACT Mentors provide additional ACT Prep support in 11th and 12th grade.

We are always looking for new mentors. Mentors must have a college degree and are required to complete the Mentor Application. StreetSquash students have varied interests and perspectives, and we try to match mentors accordingly. If you are interested in mentoring, please contact mentor@streetsquash.org.
