About StreetSquash
StreetSquash was founded in Harlem in September 1999 as the second squash and education
program in the United States. A comprehensive youth enrichment program, StreetSquash
combines academic tutoring, squash instruction, community service, college preparation,
leadership development, and mentoring for young people ages 11-24. What began as an
after-school program with 24 middle school students and two staff members has expanded to
serve 400 participants from 6th grade through college graduation, and entry into the workforce.

About the Position
StreetSquash is seeking a passionate, hard-working, and experienced Manager of Operations
to oversee the operational activities and work to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency at
every level of the organization. The ideal candidate for this job will be skilled in multitasking and
operate effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Facilities
● Ensure the effective daily operation of StreetSquash offices in Harlem
● Serve as the point person for all administrative issues
● Perform regular assessments of StreetSquash facilities and initiate repairs or updates
● Working with the Office Manager, liaise with contractors in order to ensure the StreetSquash center in Harlem is a safe and efficient space

Human Resources
● Serve as liaison between Trinet, the HR administrator/payroll company, and SS staff
● Maintain and update the employee and procedure handbooks
● Onboard new staff into Trinet
● Manage staff Paid Time Off in Stratus
● Monitor organization budgets, and ensure, on a monthly basis, that all organization and
program spending are within budget

Database Management
● Oversee all aspects of Salesforce database, including liaising with outside contractors,
and ensuring that all staff receive necessary training
● Run regular reports in Salesforce to ensure that data is being entered in a timely fashion;
Identify data irregularities and address with appropriate supervisors
● Oversee Salesforce onboarding for current and new staff, manage in-house staff person
designated to maintain database (if staff person is needed)

Office Management/Best Practices
● Liaise with external IT support to create and maintain a working and secure computer
network
● Maintain a positive and creative day-to-day office environment, facilitating open
communication and teamwork
● Manage internal calendars including staff PTO, program closures, and professional
development scheduling
● Manage internal email system, including adding and deleting users and advising on
email best practices
● Assess and advise on organizational efficiencies, including performing peer research to
determine ways to improve existing systems and maximize resources

Compliance
● Monitor and comply with city, state, and federal non-profit regulations and laws
● Ensure insurance coverage for all areas of StreetSquash’s activity including liability,
workers compensation, event insurance, and certificates of insurance for vendors and
contractors. Oversee annual renewals.

Liaise with External Organizations
● Complete SEA surveys and manage any other data requests from outside sources
● Serve as a support to the Program Director in deciding and coordinating logistics for
large events and summer programs

Qualifications & Experience
● Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, program management, or
related field
● Proven work experience as an Operations Manager or similar role
● Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management with outstanding
organizational and communication skills
● Strong budget oversight skills, experience in financial and account reporting
● Proven track record staying on top of multiple projects, planning backwards and
anticipating obstacles, identifying and involving stakeholders appropriately, using
resources wisely, being flexible and adaptable under pressure.
● Sensitivity to different cultures and communities; demonstrated ability to work well with
diverse or marginalized populations; can bring in allies across diverse communities
● Project management, interpersonal, organizational and networking skills critical,
including excellent writing, research, and computer skills
● Excellent communication skills
● Google Suite, Zoom, and Salesforce experience a plus or demonstrated experience to
learn new systems
● Other languages proficiency a plus

Compensation & Benefits: StreetSquash offers competitive compensation, commensurate
with experience. Salary is $71,000 – $81,000. Full benefits include employer-supported health
coverage, monthly MetroCard or equivalent transit stipend, monthly cell phone stipend, FSA,
paid federal holidays, 20 days of paid vacation plus a 5-day holiday break, 40 hours of sick time,
3 personal days (after the first 90 days), and 401k contributions (after 1 year of employment).
