StreetSquash ladies attend NYC premiere of Malala’s film!

On Thursday evening 16 deserving high school ladies were selected to attend the premiere of He Named Me Malala, the documentary film about Malala Yousafzai and her fight for a right to education for young girls and children.

It was an incredible and star-studded evening for us StreetSquashers! Not only were we in the company of some of America’s most empowering female  celebrities – entertainer Alicia Keys, superstar athlete Hope Solo, and reality TV star Yandy Smith, but we were lucky enough to hear Malala speak to the audience after the film! Director Davis Guggenheim hosted a Q&A with Malala Yousafzai and her father, Ziauddin. We were inspired by their motivational words and hopes for the future. “I was so moved,” Harriet, StreetSquash ’17, said of the film. “I’m so grateful for my education after seeing Malala’s struggle.”

Check out our photos below – including a group shot with our favorite Love & Hip Hop star, Yandy Smith!
