The 16th Annual StreetSquash Cup was a huge success bringing in just under $1.1 million. The event commemorated StreetSquash’s 25th anniversary with the slogan, “In it for 25 Years.” 

StreetSquash was proud to welcome Morgan Stanley to the competition, the first time the company had a team participate in the event. The University Club also competed for the first time since 2021. The Women All-Stars returned to the fold after not fielding a team in 2023. 

The Founder’s Cup, awarded to the team with the highest fundraising total, went to The Trotters who brought in just shy of $175,000 with Darren Fogel and James Wyper as the captains. It’s the highest fundraising total ever brought in by The Trotters. 

Six of the ten teams surpassed the $100,000 fundraising mark. 

On the court, the day was split into two sessions with The Wildcards, The Trotters, The Greenwich Squashers, The Women All-Stars, and The YLC competing in the morning. In the afternoon, the competition featured The Union Club, The Racquet & Tennis Club, The University Club, The Harvard Club, and Morgan Stanley. 

A ceremony was held between the two sessions to celebrate StreetSquash’s 25th Anniversary. It featured remarks from Raymond Flowers, a member of StreetSquash’s first-ever graduating Class, Thomas O., a current student set to graduate in 2025, Journeih S., another current student who graduates in 2026, and Nef Edwards, a caregiver for a current middle schooler. 

The Wildcards had an impressive showing in the morning, breezing through each one of their matches and going undefeated. All seven of their amateurs won every match they played. Their pro squash player, Nathan Lake had similar success finishing 3-1 with his only loss coming to Andrew Douglas who was representing The Trotters. 

The Women All-Stars finished in second place, the Trotters in third, Greenwich in fourth and the YLC rounding out the 5th spot in the morning session. 

In the afternoon, the battle was more heated. Following the amateur matches, the Union Club and Racquet & Tennis Club were tied atop the standings each having won 21 matches. University Club and Harvard Club tied for second place with 13 wins each, and Morgan Stanley finished with 11 wins. 

That meant the pros were going to determine the outcome with the Union Club and Racquet & Tennis Clubs being the only teams in play for the top prize. Peter Creed represented the Union Club while Adegoke Onaopemipo was the pro for Racquet & Tennis. 

But after the pro matches, it remained a tie. So Peter and Adegoke competed in a first-to-three-points tiebreaker. After Peter dropped the first point, he came back to get three in a row securing the StreetSquash Cup victory for The Union Club! 

StreetSquash is thankful to the hundreds of donors who helped StreetSquash surpass $1 million in fundraising and all the amateur and professional squash players who participated on the day of the event.
