StreetSquash is excited to welcome Muntafa Rahman to the team. He will serve as an Academic and Youth Coordinator.

Muntafa was born in Bangladesh and raised in Queens, New York. He graduated from A. Philip Randolph Campus High School and earned a B.S. in Computer Engineering with a concentration in Full-Stack Development from Manhattan University.

While studying engineering, Muntafa discovered a passion for education and youth development. 

“Service has always been a major part of my life,” Muntafa said. “Throughout high school, college, and my professional career, I have been involved in programs focused on mentoring, education, leadership development, and community engagement.”

He has worked as a STEAM instructor across New York City and previously supported students at Catholic Charities Community Services through college access and career readiness programming. He also served as a Family Development Coach at Commonpoint Bronx.

As an Academic & Youth Development Coordinator at StreetSquash, Muntafa works directly with middle school students through tutoring, academic support, and enrichment activities. He also guides eighth-grade students through the high school application process and collaborates with families, teachers, and community partners to help students reach their goals.

“As a student, I benefited from mentors and programs that helped me navigate college and career opportunities, and I am grateful to now be in a position where I can help provide that same support to the next generation,” Muntafa said.

Outside of work, Muntafa enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and staying active by playing soccer and basketball. He speaks Bengali and English, and has experience with Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, and Arabic.
