Following the renovation of all eight of its squash courts, the SL Green StretSquash Center held a grand reopening ceremony to reintroduce our space to the Harlem Community. Around 200 people showed up to experience the new squash courts. There were also additional activities for kids including pumpkin painting, face painting, and arts and crafts.
Local council member Yusef Salaam was also in attendance to talk about the impact StreetSquash has had on the community. You can listen to his remarks below.
For those who want to engage more with the sport of squash, people are encouraged to check out the offerings from Harlem Squash Club, which hosts squash events for the wider community outside of our youth development program hours. Harlem Squash Club offerings serve people of all ages.
