After School

Academics

Academic sessions at StreetSquash focus on homework help, study skills, and developing consistent work habits among participants. StreetSquash’s Academic Directors oversee student progress over the course of many years in partnership with parents, tutors, and classroom teachers, making weekly visits to partner schools to assess student performance, behavior, and their unmet educational needs.

  • After-School Tutoring Sessions: Twice-weekly, 75 minute homework help sessions textbooks, test prep materials, and support based on individual needs. Part-time and volunteer tutors are matched based on expertise and experience for each session, for individualized or small group tutoring.
  • Saturday Tutoring: Additional individualized tutoring sessions focused on remediation, homework, and subject review.
  • Test Prep: Academic Directors work with partner schools to develop test prep curricula for State and City-wide exams.
