StreetSquash is thrilled to announce that current Top 15 professional squash players Mohamed ElShorbagy and Marwan ElShorbagy will headline the 18th Annual StreetSquash Cup on Saturday, November 7, 2026. For the first time in the event’s history, the organization will host a special pro exhibition match featuring two active players in the global Top 15, including one actively ranked in the Top 10.
Mohamed, nicknamed “The Beast of Alexandria,” spent an incredible 50 months as the undisputed World No. 1. His extensive resume boasts 49 professional tour titles, highlighted by a monumental World Championship victory and three prestigious British Open crowns. Marwan, known as “The Jackal,” has achieved a career-high ranking of World No. 3 and captured 13 professional tour titles, securing massive Platinum-level victories at tournaments like the El Gouna International and the Black Ball Open.
The ElShorbagy brothers will treat attendees to a highly anticipated exhibition match, which will also be livestreamed. Following the match, event donors will have the exclusive opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with the pros. Additionally, Mohamed and Marwan will host a separate Q&A and an on-court clinic specifically for StreetSquash students.
The StreetSquash Cup, held at the SL Green StreetSquash Center on 115th Street in Harlem, is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser. The nearly 19,000-square-foot facility, featuring eight squash courts, four classrooms, and a library, serves as the primary site for the organization’s daily programming.
Each year, the event aims to raise over $1 million, accounting for approximately one-third of the organization’s annual operating budget. The Cup has consistently surpassed this goal over the past five years, with the 2025 event raising an impressive $1.56 million. In the weeks leading up to the all-day friendly round-robin tournament, twelve teams actively compete to raise the most money.
This year, the competing teams are Apollo, Blackstone, The Harvard Club, Morgan Stanley, The Racquet & Tennis Club, The Trotters, The Union Club, The University Club, The Wildcards, The Women All-Stars, The StreetSquash Junior Board, and Millennium.
Typically, the tournament features former or current professional squash players competing alongside amateur donors on each team. Past participants include former World No. 1 Nick Matthew, former World No. 1 James Willstrop, former World No. 9 Adrian Grant, and current World Top 30 player Nathan Lake. The shift to a featured exhibition match this year represents an exciting new chapter for the long-running fundraising event.
