StreetSquash is thrilled to welcome Anna Parisi to the team as a Youth Development Coordinator where they will primarily be working with our Middle School students. Previously, they were working upstate developing programs for youth at the Social Justice Leadership Academy in Hudson – a liberatory program for youth from 11 to 21 years.

Anna was born and raised in Brazil and moved to Brooklyn in 2015 ago to pursue their Fine Arts MFA from Parsons, The New School of Design, after getting their BA in Communications and Filmmaking studies from PUC-Rio and their MBA in Strategic Design from ESPM-RJ. Their work has been presented in both North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Throughout their art career Anna seeks to offer paths for healing and transcendence, as a gesture to offer back visibility, remembrance, dialogue and understanding to those that have been repeatedly silenced and erased.

They are part of The Laundromat Project 2023 Create Change Fellowship. Anna was the recipient of the 2021 Lynn and John Kearney Fellowship for Equity at Gallery Affero, the 2020 Leslie Lohman Museum Artist Fellowship, and the 2019 Taller Creative Capital Artist Fellowship.

In their teenage years, Anna was on the basketball and softball teams in their middle and high school and played soccer for the Flamengo women’s soccer team as well.

During their down time, Anna makes sure to watch as many movies as thry possibly can. Anna also used to love skateboarding, formerly taught capoeira, loves boxing and muay thai, knows how to drive a boat, and tries to row as often as they can.
